The Hautes-Alpes

An outstanding quality of life

With over 300 sunny days a year, a wide range of leisure activities offered throughout the year, a well-conserved natural environment, you will particularly enjoy the outstanding quality of life offered by the Hautes-Alpes, where the Alps meet Provence.

In summer: visit our national and regional parks: the Regional Natural Park of Queyras and the National Park of Les Écrins. They offer a large range of leisure and nature activities: hiking, canyoning, cycling, etc. You also can practice water sports (water skiing, kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing, rafting, etc.) on the Lake of Serres Ponçon, the largest artificial lake in Europe, which attracts numerous tourists from all over Europe every year.

In winter: head to the ski resorts in the Hautes-Alpes. The magnificent landscapes and the variety of sports activities you can practice will blow off your mind. The Hautes-Alpes offer a large choice of world-class ski resorts such as Serre-Chevalier (near Briançon), Vars, Orcières-Merlette, Risoul, or Super-Dévoluy, as well as highly renowned mountaineering sites: La Meije, Pelvoux-Écrins…)
