Saint-Crépin Airfield

Saint-Crépin Airfield is located in the Saint-Crépin locality, in the North of the Hautes-Alpes.

It enjoys an exceptional geographic position, between Les Ecrins National Park and Queyras Regional Nature Park on the one side, Briançon and Serre-Ponçon Lake on the other side. Saint-Crepin airfield is the air gate to Briançonnais and to Italy.

It is equipped with a hard runway since 1970, a grass runway, a clubhouse, and several hangars.

Gliding and general aviation are the two types of activities practiced on this site, representing more than 15,600 movements yearly.

The airfield, the main gliding platform in the Hautes-Alpes, is ranked 7th at a national level and enjoys international recognition for this activity. It is equipped with a glider launch winch managed by the Guil et Durance gliding club. This acquisition is representative of the sustainable development perspective adopted by Saint-Crépin airfield: winch launches reduce sound nuisances and carbon dioxide emissions, lower launch costs, and improve launch rates.

Air meetings are regularly organized in this airfield (ASK 13 international meetings), attracting a large public of professionals and amateurs.
